Biography

Dr. Bojana Obradović is a Professor at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy (FTM), University of Belgrade. She completed her BSc and MSc in Chemical Engineering at the University of Belgrade in 1990 and 1993, respectively. She earned her second MSc degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Tufts University, USA, in 1996 and subsequently obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering there in 1999, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology.

Since 2000, Dr. Obradović has been a faculty member at FTM, where she also served as the Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies from 2006 to 2012. She has been a visiting scientist and professor at several prestigious institutions, including MIT, Columbia University, University of Cagliari, University of Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro”, and Riga Technical University.

Dr. Obradović’s scientific and professional interests span chemical, biochemical, and biomedical engineering, with a particular focus on biomimetic bioreactors and the creation of bioactive, physiologically relevant environments for cell and tissue cultures. She is an author of 16 scientific book chapters, over 100 peer-reviewed articles, three patents, and several technological innovations. Dr. Obradović has also co-founded KreativTeh, a spin-off company of FTM, and has been instrumental in numerous scientific and industry collaborations.

Currently, she is the coordinator of the Horizon 2020 project ExcellMater, national coordinator for two MSCA DN projects (PREMUROSA and ReBone), and leads the national project BioengineeredTumor. Dr. Obradović is also the Editor-in-Chief of the international scientific journal Hemijska Industrija and holds memberships in several national and international professional societies, including a past role as a Member of the Continental Chapter Council of TERMIS Europe.

Professor at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Dr. Bojana Obradović leads the innovative BioengineeredTumor project. Her expertise in chemical and biomedical engineering drives the development of cutting-edge 3D tumor models for cancer research.
